Kay Lockett is a London based documentary, people & food photographer. Always hungry.
She aims to develop a narrative in her photography work and a background in journalism has formed an authentic, inquisitive and intuitive aesthetic. With an instinct for stories, her photographs capture all aspects of life with a sense of warmth, sensitivity and are as eclectic as she is.
Fascinated by human nature, her work draws primarily on an emotional response and engagement with her subjects. She embraces the private aspects of people’s lives and is driven by a desire to share stories, thriving when working on location in challenging environments.
Kay is immensely versatile – from shooting an advertising campaign in the sweltering streets of South Sudan to creating a risotto tornado in a London kitchen - she has meticulous attention to detail and has a deeply curious nature which shines through in her personality and images.
